CONFIDANT Joins BlackBerry ISV Alliance Program
Triangle -

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. - CONFIDANT, a developer of mobile communications solutions for chronic disease management, today announced it has joined the BlackBerry® ISV (Independent Software Vendor) Alliance Program.

Under the BlackBerry ISV Alliance program, CONFIDANT gains business and marketing resources and support services in enabling CONFIDANT applications to be optimized and integrated with the BlackBerry® platform.

CONFIDANT develops software applications for mobile phones that change the way patients work with their doctors and pharmacists to proactively manage chronic disease. The applications simplify and automate communication using mobile phones with Bluetooth® technology to wirelessly collect and share information from off-the-shelf home medical devices such as glucose meters, weight scales and blood pressure cuffs. CONFIDANT has deployed solutions for diabetes and obesity management and applications for other chronic diseases, such as asthma, are currently under development. CONFIDANT is also working to develop applications that support prescription medication compliance.

“CONFIDANT recognizes the BlackBerry platform as a standards-based development environment that provides secure and seamless exchange of data. This supports our ability to provide patients and caregivers with virtual real-time feedback to help them effectively manage their chronic diseases,” said Thomas Wall, CONFIDANT’s vice president of business development and marketing. ”By joining the BlackBerry ISV alliance program, CONFIDANT’s solutions will be accessible to a broader number of end-users who can benefit from our chronic disease and health management solutions.”

CONFIDANT’s applications are initially being introduced on the BlackBerry® Pearl™ Series, the BlackBerry® Curve™ Series and the BlackBerry® 8800 Series of smartphones.
