Attorney Rebecca L. Stevens Featured for Volunteer Legal Services in North Carolina
Triangle -

CARY, N.C. –  Rebecca L. Stevens, managing partner of Stevens & Hand, PLLC, was recognized on probono.net/nc for her volunteer legal work through Legal Aid of North Carolina (LANC). Stevens volunteers through the organization’s Private Attorney Involvement (PAI) program.

Stevens was recognized for her recent pro bono services, which helped a man and his family who were left homeless after the foreclosure of his home. Stevens’ charitable assistance enabled the man to access leftover foreclosure sale proceeds that he was unable to access without appropriate legal counsel.

“This case was imperative and was the very nature of what our firm does,” said Stevens. “We deal with these types of issues all the time, and I was absolutely going to do this if I could help a man get off the streets and put a family back together.”

Stevens has volunteered with the LANC on an as-needed basis since 1995. The PAI program helps to ensure access to justice for low-income families, and its success is based on the pro bono services provided by private attorneys in N.C.

“Legal Aid of North Carolina provides a greatly needed service to people across our state,” said Stevens. “I would challenge every attorney in North Carolina to use their expertise for a good cause when needed.”
