WingSwept President Recognized with TBJ’s Top 40 under 40 Award

GARNER, NC (May 4, 2009) – Jay Strickland, president of WingSwept, was awarded Triangle Business Journal’s Top 40 under 40 leadership award.  Triangle Business Journal (TBJ) celebrates the brightest, most promising young business people in the triangle under the age of 40 with this award.

Strickland founded the local IT consulting company, WingSwept, in 1995, and has been behind its growth and success ever since.  WingSwept is a local IT company that specializes in custom technology solutions that meet the unique needs of their partners.  Even the economy cannot slow WingSwept down, which has continued to make new hires.

“Jay makes a difference in the workplace by being a team leader that is driven, innovative, and easy to communicate with.  His leadership skills are unquestionably good, but his passion for his work at WingSwept makes it a superior combination,” says Jay’s coworker, Annette Springle.

Strickland, along with the other recipients, received the ninth annual award at TBJ’s luncheon due to outstanding business accomplishments, community involvement and significant career milestones in 2008.  The luncheon was filled with exceptional and deserving professionals that were chosen from 160 nominees.

“I’m thrilled to be receiving this award along with these accomplished individuals of the Triangle.   To be acknowledged as a major influence on the business community is an honor,” says Jay.  “This has been an exciting year for WingSwept, and I could not be where I am today without the people I work with.”
