Triangle Survivors of Suicide Support Group Announces Annual Teleconference for Those Who Are Struggling to Heal After Suicide
Triangle -

(Raleigh, NC) Every 16 minutes, someone dies by suicide. Each year, more than 31,000 people in the United States die by suicide, leaving behind hundreds of thousands of spouses, partners, children, parents, siblings, friends, relatives, co-workers, and healthcare professionals to survive this tragic loss.  Suicide is the 11th leading cause of death in the United States, 3rd leading cause of death among young people aged 10-24.

The annual North Carolina Triangle conference for survivors of suicide is being held this year on Sunday, November 23rd from 9:30 AM to 3:00 PM at the UNC School of Social Work on the UNC campus at Chapel Hill.

Sponsored by the Triangle Survivors of Suicide support group and the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, the conference is part of a National Survivors of Suicide Day held each year on the weekend before Thanksgiving. A national teleconference will link more than 125 local conferences around the country through a satellite broadcast.

In addition, the local conference in Chapel Hill will feature a keynote speaker providing insight and hope, a panel discussion of suicide survivors, and breakout groups based on the relationship such as loss of a parent, child, friend, spouse or client.

The registration fee is $15.00 per person and $10.00 for each additional family member. Professional CEUs are available. Lunch is provided. Visit www.TriangleSOS.org or contact Larry Bernstein at 919-946-0112 for registration forms.
