- Morrisville, NC (April 25, 2008) – Time Warner Cable (TWC) customers now have the ability to see who’s calling by simply looking at their TV screens. TWC is launching Caller ID on TV service for thousands of its subscribers in the East Carolina division. The division stretches from Raleigh to Wilmington.
The free offering is being made available to TWC subscribers who have both Digital Cable and Digital Phone services. Customers will receive an on-screen Caller ID alert when an incoming call is received. This feature can be turned on or off in the Digital Cable Settings menu. This new feature logs the last 10 incoming calls, including the caller's name, number, date and time the call was made.
The service is being made available as part of a 50 million dollar technology upgrade in the division. Right now, more than 100,000 TWC Digital customers are eligible for Caller ID on TV. Caller ID on TV will be completely rolled out by mid-summer when all Time Warner Cable customers in the East Carolina footprint will receive the option. “We are constantly looking for ways to provide our customers with the innovative and exciting services they desire,” says Tom Adams, Regional Vice President of Operations. “We are taking a popular telephone service and making it a convenient option for our subscribers who are watching television.”
This is the first wave of additional features to come for Digital Cable customers as a result of the technology upgrade in North Carolina
Time Warner Cable East Carolina provides service to more than 750,000 customers throughout central and southeastern North Carolina including Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill, Fayetteville, Henderson, Lumberton, Goldsboro, Wilson and Wilmington. The East Carolina Division has upgraded its cable system with advanced fiber-optic technology, providing the foundation for Digital Cable, High Definition Television (HDTV), Video On Demand, Road Runner, a high-speed online service, Digital Phone, Wireless Phone, News 14 Carolina and Time Warner Cable Business Class. |
