Specialty pharmaceutical company releases new product for Allergic Rhinitis

Cary – Cornerstone BioPharma, Inc., the Triangle-based specialty pharmaceutical company currently focused on the development and commercialization of niche prescription medications in the respiratory arena, today announced a new dose pack to its allergic rhinitis AlleRx® Dose Pack product line. The new dose pack will be available at pharmacies across the United States in early March.

With “Alert Days, Restful Nights,” the AlleRx Dose Pack family has a patented AM/PM dosing, which provides symptomatic relief of allergic rhinitis without untimely side effects. Generally, decongestants have not been used at night as they have shown to cause alertness and counter sleep, leaving many patients to struggle through the night with clogged sinuses and little relief.

This new medication has the potential to help allergy sufferers across the country. Additionally, nearly 30 million people in the U.S. have reported being diagnosed with allergic rhinitis, an outstanding 20% of all adults and up to 40% of children as observed by the Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology. Many others suffer from allergic rhinitis, but have never been diagnosed.

The new AlleRx Dose Pack maintains the same brand and will be prescribed the same way as in the past. The new AlleRx Dose Pack has no AB Rated, generic equivalents/substitutions. It now comes with the added value of two different decongestants for the same price. Also, the convenient AM/PM dosing is color coded, to reduce medication misuse.

The new AlleRx Dose Pack is launched in time for the approaching the allergy season.  It will be available to pharmacies and consumers early March, no generic substitutions are available.
